Interesting Dates…..Guy #2

Out of the blue I heard from a guy I had been texting back and forth with month earlier.  I assumed that he was no longer in his relationship (the one I saw him enter into on FB, right before I unfriended him).

Would I like to meet for coffee?  Sure, that’s pretty non-committal…coffee….10 minutes or more if you want, easy to escape….not like an entire dinner, where you have to suffer for 2 hours or more if the night goes downhill fast.

So coffee it was…he was interesting….but talked too much about his most recent ex.  I don’t mind hearing stories about ex’s, but not over coffee….not in the first few minutes.   But he was mostly interesting to listen to…and he asked me to dinner.

I have my three date rule…you know, three dates before I make the decision as to whether to see you again.  I know, there’s a three date rule for sex, but that’s not *MY* rule.

So, dinner it was…relaxed pizza place, nice….couple of beers, some pizza, some talking.  He’s still kinda’ weird, but seems like maybe he’s coming out of some sort of shell.

He walked me to my car, but when I turned for any type of “good night” closure, kiss/hug/something, he was standing pretty far away.  I leaned in and hugged him anyway, he was awfully stiff (his whole body, you pervs).  That’s really not going to fit well with me and my touchy-feely group.

A day or two later he asks me out again for Saturday.  Unfortunately, I’m not available the upcoming Saturday, I have family obligations, would the following Saturday work?

So, two weeks pass…I don’t hear from him…..Saturday afternoon appears and I text him, “As I’ve not heard from you, I’m assuming you don’t want to see me tonight.”

I got a response that boiled down to “I’m looking for someone with more availability.”  Really?  I can’t make one Saturday and that means I’m not available?  Wow, I knew something wasn’t gelling, because that Saturday would’ve been the aforementioned third date and it wasn’t looking favorably….BUT COME ON….one Saturday?  I’m guessing that my “control freak” radar wasn’t going off for nothing.
