Interesting Dates….Guy #1

Since I’ve posted last I went out with four new guys.  I’ll weave the complete tale of one of them in this post…it was pretty short and went something like this:

We met at the Starbuck’s by my sister’s place, since coffee is a pretty non-committal type of date.  It was a Thursday, my Friday for the week, and he agreed to meet me after he got off of work, which was admittedly late.  He had a project he needed to complete.

In fact, he was totally my type of guy, I even suspended my “no kids” rule in order to meet him.  Should’ve known better…there’s a reason I have rules.

He was interesting, works in the post-production effects industry…and in desperate need for something to eat after plying him with coffee at 9:00PM we went to dinner.  Do you know what’s open at 11:00 at night?  Not much…we went to Denny’s.

He said “Don’t tell anyone our first date was Starbuck’s and Denny’s,” I won’t tell anyone per se, but I might write it up and then it may be stumbled on by someone else.

Anyway, I had a great time…he said HE had a great time….this was a clothes-on great time…so, you know, I enjoyed talking to him.  He invited me to October-fest in Long Beach and out to dinner that weekend.

I was very excited for this date…I had a snazzy outfit selected and was on my way to Sis’ place to get ready when I get a call on my cell phone….dun-dun-duuuuuuunnnnnn

Seems like his car is in the shop, it should’ve been done, but it’s not…do I still want to go out? I’d have to drive.  Sure, let me know where to pick you up.  (that wasn’t the right answer, apparently).
“I don’t want you to feel like you’re having to ‘be the man’.”  Fair enough, I did complain I was like a man in my last relationship and didn’t want it to happen again…however, it’s not the same situation, now is it.  I asked if we could talk once I got to my Sister’s place so I wasn’t driving and talking at the same time.  “Sure.”

I get home and there’s a text message for me saying it’s not going to work out, I live too far away.

Really?  Honestly?  That’s what you’re going to fall back on?

You knew where I lived before we went out, it wasn’t a problem then.

You said you had a good time with me, enough to make a second date, instead of saying “yeah, this isn’t going to work out.”

And, BTW, don’t even try to kobayashi maru at me…first of all…I TOLD you I was moving, and secondly, I know what that is, so you don’t sound fancy at all, in fact, you sound idiotic BECAUSE I told you I was moving.
